If you know someone who would enjoy the convenience, support and fun of living on campus, or if you simply want your friends to live closer, refer them to apply.
When they move in, you both receive rent credits. It’s a simple, fair and rewarding way to shape the campus life you want.
Successful referrals receive up to $1,000 in rent credits for you, and $1,000 for your friend*.

Eligible residents will receive the following:
You can refer students who are not currently living in an ANU residence. This includes commencing students, current ANU students living off-campus, and students studying at another university or institution who meet ANU’s accommodation eligibility requirements.
You cannot refer yourself, someone already living on campus, someone who has already been referred under another referral code, or someone who has lived on campus in the past six months.
You can refer up to five students per intake. Only one referrer is permitted per new resident.
If multiple referral codes are shared, the code entered at the time the application is submitted will be the one that applies.
A referral is considered successful when the student you referred applies using your referral code, accepts an offer, moves into residence, and remains for the minimum qualifying period set out in the program terms.
If the student cancels their application, does not move in, or leaves before completing the qualifying period, the referral will not qualify for a reward.
Referral rewards are provided as rent credits and are applied in two stages:
Rent credits are not redeemable for cash and are applied in line with the program Terms and Conditions.
To qualify for a referral reward, the referred student must accept an offer for an eligible ANU residence.
Eligible residences are outlined in the program Terms and Conditions and may vary by intake depending on availability and operational requirements.
You will be notified by email when your referral has been validated and when rent credits have been applied to your accommodation account.
You can also check your account balance through the Accommodation Portal or contact the Accommodation Services Team for updates.
Yes, you may share your referral code publicly, including on social media.
All referrals remain subject to program rules, eligibility checks, and referral caps. If a referred student does not meet the criteria, the referral will not qualify for a reward.
