Your safety and wellbeing are our top priority, which is why our residences are staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to offer continuous support. Each residence features a multi-level support system to ensure your needs are met effectively. Here's a breakdown of the key support roles in your residence:
The Senior Resident is your primary point of contact within the residence. These senior students oversee residents on their floor, assist with any questions or concerns, and help navigate the challenges of communal living. SRs are trained to escalate issues when necessary, engage referral services such as ANU Counselling and Student Safety Wellbeing Team, and provide basic first aid.
The Community Support Officer is a residential staff member who provide after-hours support. CSOs maintain safety within the accommodation community, respond to students' needs, and respond to any after-hours emergencies
Reception staff are the friendly faces you often see at the front desk of our Accommodation. They work with the Property–Manager-Operations to ensure all administrative, financial, and front-of-house procedures run smoothly. Reception staff handle inquiries, assist with check-ins and check-outs, manage mail and packages, and provide information about residence facilities and services.
The Property-Manager Operations oversees the operational aspects of the residence. They ensure that all facilities are well-maintained, and that the residence runs efficiently. The PMO is responsible for coordinating maintenance and repair work, managing housekeeping services, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. They work closely with other staff members to provide a comfortable and well-functioning living environment.
Also known as Residential Wellbeing Coordinator, Deputy Head of Hall, or Residential Life Manager, this role supports the Head of Hall in managing the residence. They assist with overseeing the welfare and academic progress of students, report on disciplinary issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of the residence. They engage with students directly and support activities that enhance the residential experience. This role also manages and has oversight of the student leadership teams including Residential and Academic Mentors.
The Head of Hall is responsible for the welfare and management of all students and staff. They oversee all aspects of residential life, from academic support and student wellbeing to community building and conflict resolution. The Head of Hall also has broad responsibility for the overall residence and operations. They ensure a high level of residential service and connection to university support.
