Admission to an Honours year is at the discretion of the ANU College responsible for your field of research.

Step 1: Check your eligibility

Use our Programs & Courses website to explore our Honours programs. You can search by degree title or subject area. Use the Programs & Courses website to check that you meet the academic requirements of your preferred program.

All students, whether domestic or international, must meet the minimum English language requirements for admission.

Already completed your Bachelor Degree?

When you apply, you will need to upload clear, colour copies of your academic transcripts, graduation certificates, and proof of English Language proficiency.

There is no need to certify your documents, but they must be colour scans of the original copies without any alteration of any kind. ANU independently verifies the authenticity of your qualifications.

Still completing your Bachelor Degree?

If you are in your final year of your Bachelor degree you can still apply, but you must advise ANU of your expected graduation date in your application. You will need to provide a clear, colour copy of your most recent academic transcript for assessment. If you are successful, you will be asked to provide copies of your final transcript and graduation certificate before you may receive a full offer.

Step 4: Receive an offer

Places in Honours year programs are highly competitive. All applications will be assessed after grades are released in each semester.

ANU will contact all successful and unsuccessful applicants by email. When you apply, please ensure you supply an active email address. Check your email regularly so you don't miss any correspondence.
