Living in a student residence during your first year at ANU will put you at the heart of campus life and give you heaps of opportunities to thrive among a community of your peers.
Just about everyone in your residence will be from somewhere else and – like you – looking to make new friends and build their networks and independence.
Everything in your residential experience will be about helping you to build networks and settle into university life. On tap will be residential advisers, academic support and a calendar of community events.
Relaxed, safe and friendly, Canberra provides city experiences with a small-town feel. Cafes, shops, cinemas, night life, festivals, bike paths and paid work opportunities will be right on your doorstep.
All you’ll need on campus will be in easy reach of your residence too: lecture halls, cafes, bars, bike paths, gyms and several libraries, as well as events and the activities of ANU clubs and societies.
ANU will notify you by email as early as 5 September about whether you have been given a study offer. If you have told us in your application that you would like to live on campus, this notification will also include an accommodation offer.
Of course! The application form will ask if you’d like to live on campus and if you would, you’ll be prompted to choose a residence.
We’ll do our best to give you your first preference. If you don’t want to live on campus, just tick ‘no’ in the box at the top of the form’s accommodation page.
ANU offers both catered and uncatered student residences for you to choose from. We’ll do our best to give you the option you prefer.
