We’re excited to welcome you back to campus! As a returning resident, you are an integral part of our community—which is why we’re making the 2025 application process simpler and more straightforward.
Here is what you need to know:
Being a Residential Mentor (RM) is an amazing way to take on a leadership role within your residence and gain valuable experience. As an RM, you will receive a scholarship and comprehensive training to prepare you for the role.
Applications for Residential Scholarships, which include RM positions, open from 9 to 23 August 2024.
Find out moreNo action needed! We will automatically assess your eligibility, and if you’re eligible, you will get an offer on 8 October 2024. Make sure to check your inbox!
If you’re looking to move to a different residence, you will need to apply for a transfer through our application portal and specify which residence you would like to move to. We will review your application, and you will get the outcome on 8 October 2024. If your transfer isn’t successful but you meet the eligibility criteria, you will receive an offer for your current residence.
You will still be assessed for eligibility. If you’re eligible, you will receive an offer on 8 October 2024, which you can choose to decline if you don’t wish to return. However, if you’re open to other options, consider exploring different residences for 2025!
To be eligible to return to campus in 2025, you need to:
9-23 August: Applications for Residential Scholarships open
19 August-1 September: Transfer applications open
8 October: Offers for accommodation and Residential Scholarships released
13 October: Deadline to accept Residential Scholarship offers
17 November: Deadline to accept accommodation offers
Our tariffs for Semester 1 2025 will differ from those in 2024. The Fee Summary will be published on our website in the upcoming weeks, before offers are issued, allowing you ample time to review it.
You will need to sign a new Occupancy Agreement when your offer is released on 8 October 2024. Please remember that the 2025 Occupancy Agreement will differ from your current Occupancy Agreement, and it is important you review it carefully. The 2025 Occupancy Agreement will be published on our website in the upcoming weeks.
You will need to pay Acceptance Fees to secure your spot on campus for 2025. The Acceptance Fees consist of two weeks' rent and a Resident Committee fee. The fees are payable within the stipulated deadline through the accommodation portal or at reception of your 2025 residence or via phone.
If you don’t pay the fees within the stipulated deadline, your offer of accommodation will lapse, and you will no longer have a spot secured for 2025. If you are experiencing extenuating circumstances and need an extension on the payment deadline, please contact your residence as soon as possible.
Once you accept your accommodation offer and pay the acceptance fees, you enter a legally binding contract. If you no longer wish to stay on campus in Semester 1 2025, you will be required to submit an early termination form, and this request will be assessed in line with termination clauses of the Occupancy Agreement.
The Emergency Accommodation Bursary remains available to all ANU students experiencing unexpected financial difficulty. Applications for the bursary are opened all year round.
You may be eligible to request a review of decision. We understand your circumstances are unique and we encourage you to contact your residential management team for further advice.
We may consider late transfer applications if you are experiencing extenuating circumstances and need to transfer residence for wellbeing or medical concerns. Please reach out to uni.accom@anu.edu.au for further advice.
You will have the option to stay with us over the summer, bridging your 2024 to 2025 contract. Please note that not all residences will be operational during this period, so you may need to relocate to one of our designated summer residences. More information about summer accommodation will be available on our website closer to the end of the semester.
Yes, you can request a single-semester contract if you are graduating or participating in an exchange program after receiving your offer. Please contact our team to confirm your eligibility for a single-semester contract, and we will update your offer accordingly.
