Advanced Placement (AP) - for applications for admission effective from semester 1, 2026
Please see the table below to determine the minimum indicative score you will need to achieve to be considered for undergraduate degrees at ANU.
At a minimum, all applicants must meet program-specific academic/non-academic requirements, as well as English language requirements. Please refer to Programs and Courses for the most up-to date admission requirements for your preferred program. Admission to some ANU programs is on a competitive basis therefore, meeting all admission requirements does not guarantee entry into the program.

Applicants that use AP as the direct entry method alongside completion of either a U.S. or Chinese high school diploma must meet the following requirements:
- AP Scores: Only AP exam scores of 3, 4, or 5 will be counted toward the aggregate. Scores of 2 or below, as well as Calculus AB subgrades, will be excluded.
- Secondary Studies: Applicants must provide evidence of successful completion of senior
secondary studies.
- U.S. high school.
- Chinese high school.
- AP Subjects: A minimum of 3 and a maximum of 4 AP subjects must be presented, taken either in the same year or across two years.
- Verification: AP results must be verified and sent directly as an official report from the College Board to ANU admissions office.
- AP letter of aggregation and score conversion: A/A+=5, A-/B+/B=4, B-/C+/C-=3.
