Please see the table below to determine the minimum indicative score you will need to achieve to be considered for undergraduate degrees at ANU.

At a minimum, all applicants must meet program-specific academic/non-academic requirements, and English language requirements. Please refer to Programs and Courses for the most up-to date admission requirements for your preferred program. Admission to some ANU programs is on a competitive basis. Therefore, meeting all admission requirements does not guarantee entry into the program.

SAT results are accepted for admission when presented alongside any senior secondary qualification, provided that:

  • The senior secondary qualification is equivalent to the Australian Senior Secondary Certificate of Education (SSCE); and
  • The University does not have an assessment schedule for the senior secondary qualification.

Acceptable qualifications alongside the SAT include but are not limited to:

  • USA High School Diploma
  • China High School Diploma (Gao Zhong - must have taken academic streams leading to the award of a Chinese High School Graduation Diploma)
  • Indonesian Senior-Secondary Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA)
  • Indonesian-Pusat Kegiatan Belajar Masyarakat (PKBM)
  • Thailand Certificate of Basic Education (Matthayom 6 or MAW 6)
  • Japanese Upper Secondary School Graduation Certificate (Kotogakko Sotsugyo Shomeisho)
  • Philippines Local Senior High School K12 qualification (Academic Track)
  • Vietnamese Upper Secondary Education Graduation Diploma at non-gifted high schools

Applicants who are currently undertaking or who have completed a senior secondary qualification other than those listed above are encouraged to contact the ANU Admissions and Scholarships Office to confirm whether their qualification is equivalent to the SSCE.

Applicants currently undertaking senior secondary studies are required to submit:

  • Interim senior secondary results (mid-year Year-12 transcript)

Applicants who have completed senior secondary studies are required to submit:

  • Final senior secondary results (Year-12 transcript inclusive of final results)
  • Senior secondary graduation certificate and/or diploma certificate

Completion of Advanced Placement (AP) subjects is not compulsory. However, applicants who have completed AP subjects may be eligible for adjustments and are encouraged to submit their results through the online channel linked below.
