Before Open Day

Do I need to register for Open Day?

We recommend registering for ANU Open Day before 28 March 2026 so you can plan your day and stay up to date with the latest event information.

Does registration give me access to scheduled activities?

Registering for ANU Open Day will give you access to all scheduled activities. You don’t need to register separately. However, seats may be limited and are allocated on a first-come basis.

I have accessibility requirements. Will I be able to get support if required?

Our team will be available on the day to assist. If you require accessibility support or have further questions, please contact us at future.student@anu.edu.au.

I am interested in postgraduate study. Will there be information available?

Yes! You will find information booths with representatives from academic areas available to answer your postgraduate questions.

There will also be dedicated postgraduate information sessions held in T2, Lowitja O’Donoghue Cultural Centre, Kambri.

Travelling from interstate

I am not driving. Can I travel to Canberra another way?

Yes, you can travel to Canberra by bus, train or air. Canberra is well connected with regular coach and train services from major cities, and Canberra Airport offers frequent flights from across Australia, making it easy to plan your trip for ANU Open Day.

Where do I stay?

There are many accommodation options near ANU, with a range of hotels and short-stay options in and around the city centre.

I am visiting Canberra for the weekend. What else can I do?

As Australia’s capital city, Canberra has plenty to explore over a weekend. From art galleries and museums to nature walks and great places to eat, there’s something for everyone.

On the day

Can I get to Open Day by public transport?

There are bus stops near ANU along Barry Drive and Marcus Clarke Street. ANU is also a short walk from the City Interchange and light rail.

Will there be parking available on ANU during Open Day?

There will be many on-campus parking options available for ANU Open Day attendees.

All outdoor parking areas and the Baldessin parking station will be free of charge for the entirety of the day. Underground parking in the Kambri precinct will be free for the first three hours.

How do I know where to go once I’m at Open Day?

Once you arrive at ANU Open Day, we recommend starting in Kambri, a central hub on campus. Our staff will be there to help you get oriented, answer questions and point you in the right direction.

You can speak with staff at the Study Options Expo and Student Services Showcase, pick up a program and map and find out more about your areas of interest. ANU Open Day activities listed online also include links to the campus map to help you find your way.

Can I speak to someone about my study options?

Representatives from academic areas will be available at the Study Options Expo to answer questions about ANU study options. You’ll find them in the Marie Reay Teaching Centre, Kambri.

Will there be information on support services and activities outside of study?

Representatives from student support services will be available at the Student Support Showcase, located in the marquees along University Avenue. You’ll also find information on activities outside of study, including ANU Sport.

Will I be able to see the facilities and accommodation?

Campus tours will be running throughout the day exploring facilities and academic buildings. Check out the Activities page for tour information.

There will also be specific tours dedicated to exploring our on-campus student accommodation. A bus service will be provided to help you navigate between these buildings.

Who do I talk to if I need help on the day?

ANU staff will be available across campus to assist, with a central information booth in the Kambri precinct. Look for the ANU t-shirts!

Can I get free Wi-Fi access on Open Day?

Yes, free Wi-Fi will be available to all attendees. Login details will be provided in the ANU Open Day event program and through signage in Kambri.

Where can I get something to eat?

There will be lots of food options available at ANU Open Day. Head to Joplin Lane for a taste of street food options from around the world, right on campus.

What should I bring on the day

Your curiosity and sense of adventure! Our campus is large, so we recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes, being sun safe and bringing a water bottle – we have water stations across campus where you can top up. Check the weather beforehand, dress appropriately and consider bringing along a notebook or device to take in all the information.
