About this scholarship

 

Each year the ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences ('the College') may offer an award known as the ANU Art Collection Scholarship ('the Award').

The objectives of the Award are to promote the development, study and care of the ANU Art Collection, under the joint guidance of the Drill Hall Gallery team and CASS academics, and to support talented ANU Masters students throughout their internship year undertaken at this renowned arts institution.

Funding for this Award has been provided by Andrew Dyer and Donna-Marie Kelly, who are dedicated to supporting the arts and improving career pathways for emerging arts professionals.

Eligibility

 

The Award is available each year to a current postgraduate ANU student who is:

  • a domestic or international student; and 
  • studying a Masters in Art History and Curatorial Practice or a Master in Museum and Heritage Studies at the College.
  • enrolled in the two relevant six-unit internship courses, equivalent to a one year internship, for placement at the Drill Hall Gallery, ANU.

First Nations applicants are strongly encouraged to apply and will be given preference in any order of merit created for this award, although it is also open to non-Indigenous applicants. Experience working with First Nations communities and collections will also be highly regarded, although is not essential.

Additional information

 

The value of the Award is stated in your letter of offer. The duration of the Award is for one year with the fee waiver applied towards relevant tuition fees at the start of each semester. The Award is paid in equal instalments after census date each semester unless otherwise stated in the letter of offer.

The recipient is responsible for making payment of all remaining tuition fees by the prescribed date as set out by the University each session. Recipients of the Award are responsible for the costs of books, study materials, accommodation and all other costs of study.

The application is submitted on the prescribed form on https://cass.anu.edu.au/study/scholarships/art-collection-scholarship. Any requirement for supporting documentation and forwarding details will be stated on the application form and/or ANU Scholarships website. The application and all supporting documentation (where applicable) must be submitted on or prior to the closing date published on the ANU scholarships website.
