About this scholarship
Each year, the ANU College of Law, Governance and Policy offers financial assistance to students who are experiencing financial hardship to assist with the cost of purchasing equipment or textbooks required for their law studies. LLB(Hons) & JD students who meet the eligibility criteria can apply for this bursary. Priority will be given to students who can demonstrate a higher level of financial hardship.
In First Semester, 2026, this assistance will be in the form of a textbook pack consisting of the 2026 prescribed texts for LAWS1201/LAWS6101 Foundations of Australian Law, LAWS1202/LAWS6102 Lawyers Justice and Ethics, LAWS1203/LAWS6103 Torts and LAWS1204/LAWS6104 Contracts.

Eligibility
The Award is available each year to a continuing ANU student who is:
- a domestic or international student; and
- enrolled in a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) (LLB(Hons)) or Juris Doctor (JD) in the ANU College of Law, Governance and Policy; and
- enrolled in a law course for the study period they are applying for; and
- able to demonstrate financial hardship.

Successful applicants will receive a textbook pack consisting of the 2026 prescribed texts for LAWS1201/LAWS6101 Foundations of Australian Law, LAWS1202/LAWS6102 Lawyers Justice and Ethics, LAWS1203/LAWS6103 Torts and LAWS1204/LAWS6104 Contracts.

The ANU College of Law, Governance and Policy will hold two application rounds each semester.
All applications completed before the round closing date and meet the eligibility criteria and conditions prescribed in the Conditions of Award, will be considered for this bursary.
Eligible applicants who were not successful in round one will automatically be considered in round two.
To increase your chance of being successful, the College recommends applying as early as possible.
Recipients must be available to collect their bursary in person.
