About this scholarship
Each year the School of Literature, Languages and Linguistics may offer an award known as The Friends of the ANU Classics Museum Grant for Collection Research.
The objective of the Award is to support Honours and Master’s students in one of the eligible specialisations listed below whose thesis research will include the study of objects in the collection of the ANU Classics Museum, especially their provenance and collection history.
Funding for this Award has been provided by The Friends of the ANU Classics Museum. The Friends of the ANU Classics Museum was established in 1985 to promote the interests of the Museum and to encourage interest in Ancient Greece and Rome in the wider community.

Eligibility
The Award is available each year to a commencing or continuing ANU student who:
- is a domestic or international student;
- receives an offer of admission to an Honours program or a Master’s program at the ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences in one of the following fields:
- Classical Studies; Archaeology;
- Anthropology; Art History and Theory;
- History;
- Middle Eastern and Central Asian Studies;
- Museums and Collections;
- Museum Education and Heritage Interpretation;
- Intangible Cultural Heritage; or
- any other field deemed relevant by the Selection Committee; and
- will conduct research on the provenance and/or collection history of objects in the ANU Classics Museum.
Additional information
The value of the Award is stated in your letter of offer. The Award is paid in a one-off instalment upon accepting the Award to be paid after census date, unless otherwise stated in the letter of offer.
The recipient is responsible for making payment of all tuition fees by the prescribed date as set out by the University each session. Recipients of the Award are responsible for the costs of books, study materials, accommodation and all other costs of study.
The application is submitted on the prescribed form. Any requirement for supporting documentation and forwarding details will be stated on the application form and/or ANU Scholarships website. The application and all supporting documentation (where applicable) must be submitted on or prior to the closing date published on the ANU scholarships website.
