About this scholarship

Each year, the School of Literature, Languages and Linguistics within the ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences may offer an award known as The Friends of the ANU Classics Museum Honours Grant in Classical Studies.

The objective of the Award is to support Honours students in Classical Studies whose thesis research will include the study of objects in the collection of the ANU Classics Museum

Funding for this Award has been provided by The Friends of the ANU Classics Museum, established in 1985 to promote the interests of the Museum and to encourage interest in Ancient Greece and Rome in the wider community.

Eligibility

The Award is available each year to a commencing or continuing ANU student who:

is a domestic or international student;
receives an offer of admission to an Honours program in the field of Classical Studies at the ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences; and
will study objects in the collection of the ANU Classics Museum as part of their thesis research.

Additional information

The value of the Award is stated in your letter of offer. The Award is paid in a one-off instalment upon accepting the Award to be paid after census date, unless otherwise stated in the letter of offer.

The recipient is responsible for making payment of all tuition fees by the prescribed date as set out by the University each session. Recipients of the Award are responsible for the costs of books, study materials, accommodation and all other costs of study.

The application is submitted on the prescribed form. Any requirement for supporting documentation and forwarding details will be stated on the application form and/or ANU Scholarships website. The application and all supporting documentation (where applicable) must be submitted on or prior to the closing date published on the ANU scholarships website.
