About this scholarship

 

The objective of the award is to provide support to a current student, or graduate of the ANU College of Law, undertaking a 12 month Fellowship with the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) in The Hague, Netherlands.

The award is intended to assist with the cost of living expenses while the recipient works as an Assistant Legal Counsel with the PCA's International Bureau. The recipient will assist with international arbitrations administered by the PCA, carry out legal research and drafting, and otherwise provide legal advice and services as directed by Legal Counsel within the PCA. 

The 12-month Fellowship will commence in February.

Eligibility

 

The Award is available each year to an ANU student or recent graduate who (at the time of application):

  • is a domestic or international student; 
  • is in their final year of Juris Doctor or Bachelor of Laws (Hons), whether undertaking as a single or flexible double degree, at ANU College of Law; or
  • is enrolled in the LLM at ANU College of Law; or
  • graduated from the LLB(Hons), JD or LLM from the ANU Law School in the last five years.

The value of the award is $35,000. The award is paid in one instalment upon accepting the Award, unless otherwise stated in the letter of offer.
