About this scholarship

 

Each year, the ANU Law School within the ANU College of Law, Governance and Policy may offer an award known as the Frohlich Travel Grant to support the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) Fellowship.

The objective of the Award is to provide support to a current student or graduate of the ANU College of Law, Governance and Policy, undertaking a 12-month Fellowship with the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) in The Hague, Netherlands.

Funding for this Award has been provided by the Frohlich Endowment in Law.

Eligibility

 

The Award is available each year to a continuing ANU student or recent graduate who (at the time of application):

  1. is a domestic or international student;
  2. is enrolled in one of the following programs at the ANU College of Law, Governance and Policy:
    • Bachelor of Laws (Honours) as a single degree and has completed at least 138 units;
    • Bachelor of Laws (Honours) as part of a Flexible Double Degree (FDD Law) and has completed at least 186 units;
    • Juris Doctor (JD) and has completed at least 90 units; and
  3. graduated from the LLB(Hons) or JD from the ANU Law School in the last five years.

The value of the award is $35,000. The award is paid in one instalment upon accepting the Award, unless otherwise stated in the letter of offer.

The 12-month Fellowship usually commences in late January or early February in the year following the application.

If the PCA does not select the Fellowship to the candidate(s) nominated by the ANU College of Law, Governance and Policy, the travel grant will not be provided.
