About this scholarship
The ANU School of Medicine and Psychology may offer an award known as The Humanitarian Medical Scholarship ('the Award').
The objective of the Award is to provide one postgraduate scholarship (up to four years) to a student who is from a refugee background, undertaking the Doctor of Medicine and Surgery program at the ANU.
Funding for the 2023 Award was generously provided by the John James Foundation.

Eligibility
The scholarship will be awarded to a student who:
- Is not an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or permanent humanitarian visa holder; and
- Holds a temporary Protection Visa, or Safe Haven Enterprise Visa, or is an Asylum Seeker on a Bridging Visa Type A or E; and
- Is a first year medical student enrolled in the Doctor of Medicine and Surgery program.
