About this scholarship

 

In 2026/27 the Research School of Management (‘the School’) in the ANU College of Business and Economics (‘the College’) may offer up to two awards known as the IDCARE Research Scholarship (‘the Award’).

Funding for this Award has been provided by IDCARE, which was founded by Mr David Lacey (Group CEO). IDCARE is the national identity and cyber support service that was formed to address a critical support gap for individuals confronting identity and cyber security concerns. Mr Lacey has extensive experience in identity and cyber security, law enforcement, and national security, advises governments and corporations on customer-centric identity and cyber security responses, and is recognised globally for his contributions to the field.

The objective of the Award is to support up one outstanding domestic1 candidates to enable them to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy program under the guidance of Professor Sigi Goode on a topic related to cyberpsychology and deception, based in the Research School of Management in the ANU College of Business and Economics.

Professor Sigi Goode is a distinguished researcher and academic at the Research School of Management with expertise in the field of Information Systems, focussing on information security behaviour and including areas such as data breaches, identity theft, and software vulnerabilities. He also explores technology adoption and policy, particularly in the context of online services and cloud computing. With a proven track record of excellence in research and mentorship, Professor Goode is committed to nurturing the next generation of scholars and driving impactful research outcomes.

Eligibility

 

The Award is available to one prospective domestic ANU candidate who:

  1. is enrolling full-time in a program of study for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in the ANU College of Business and Economics;
  2. is in receipt of a AGRTP stipend scholarship; and
  3. is conducting a research project under primary supervision by Professor Sigi Goode.
