About this scholarship

 

Each year ANU normally offers one scholarship to an Indigenous Australian to undertake graduate study.

Eligibility

 
  • Australian Citizens identifying as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander;
  • Applicants for a research scholarship must hold a Bachelors degree with at least upper second-class honours, or equivalent prior studies including some research work
  • Applicants for a coursework scholarship must hold at least a Bachelors degree

Doctor or Philosophy, Professional Doctorate, Master of Philosophy, Master by Research, Master by Coursework, Graduate Diploma

Travel to Canberra from within Australia; reimbursement of some removal expenses; thesis reimbursement allowance.

No separate application is required. Applicants who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander will be automatically considered for this scholarship during their application for admission.

  3. Note: Some ANU coursework programs require application through the University Admissions Centre. Details of these programs and how to apply for them are provided on the Postgraduate Coursework Application Form.

Before lodging an application, applicants applying for admission to a coursework program should first check the closing date of the program, as the closing date for some coursework programs may be earlier than the scholarship closing date.

Applicants for a research program are strongly encouraged to contact the relevant Graduate Studies Convener or a prospective supervisor, prior to lodging an application, to discuss the proposed research topic and related matters.
