The Oxford Australia Fund was initiated to endow scholarships each year for academically top Australian graduates to go to Oxford University for study and research.
The first scholarships were established at the Australian National University in connection with the Campaign for Oxford 1993, with donations from Australian Oxford alumni and then with a large benefaction from the late Mr James Fairfax AC. Since 1998, this Fund has awarded scholarships to ninety-eight Australian graduates.

Scholarship selection is made on academic merit across the entire range of university disciplines with (partial) funding provided to Australian university graduates for the duration of a full-time Masters or Doctorate degree, or a second undergraduate degree, at Oxford.
Please note that candidates are eligible for the Oxford Australia Scholarships while doing their first Overseas degree.
Additional information
The Oxford Australian Scholarships have a current value of AUD 15,000 per annum and can be held for a period of three years.
The Oxford Australia Scholarship Fund Committee welcomes applications for 2023-2024 awards of its scholarships.
Applications will be open from the 3rd of January 2024 and will close on the 16th February 2024.
