Each year the ANU College of Engineering, Computing and Cybernetics may offer an award known as the Paul Thistlewaite Memorial Honours Year Scholarship.
The objective of the Award is to encourage ongoing academic achievement of high-performing Honours students, with preference given to female candidates to support gender equity within the field.
Funding for this Award has been provided by the Thistlewaite Family and a range of donors in memory of Dr Paul Thistlewaite who has a long held affinity with ANU, particularly within the field of Computer Science.

Academic merit, GenderThe Award is available each year to a continuing ANU student who:
a) Bachelor of Advanced Computing (Research & Development) (Honours); or
b) Bachelor of Advanced Computing (Honours); or
c) Bachelor of Computing (Honours); or
d) Bachelor of Science (Computer Science Honours); or
e) Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Software Engineering.

Selection for the Scholarship will be based on academic merit with preference being given to the best academically qualified female student undertaking Honours in the area of Advanced Information Systems or Human Centred Computing including Big Data and Machine Learning. If there is no eligible female student, then the Scholarship may be awarded to the best qualified male student.
