About this scholarship
The Peter Gage Supplementary Scholarship in Membrane Physiology is named in honour of Professor Peter William Gage, in recognition of his having been one of Australia’s leaders in membrane physiology, biophysics and neuroscience. Peter influenced and encouraged a great many research students, postdoctoral fellows and senior colleagues in their scientific careers.
The objective of the Award is to encourage outstanding domestic or international candidates to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program in the field of medical sciences, based in the JCSMR.

Eligibility
The Award is available each year to a prospective or continuing domestic or international ANU student who:
- is enrolled or will be enrolling full-time in a program of study for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy, based in the John Curtin School of Medical Research; and
- has completed qualifications comparable to the educational level of an Australian Bachelor first class Honours degree, or has demonstrated research experience to a standard equivalent to an ANU first class Honours; and
- has been awarded, and continues to hold, an approved ANU HDR base stipend scholarship at the minimum AGRTP base rate.

Supplementary scholarship paid fortnightly.
A supplementary scholarship to top-up the AGRTP rate of the base stipend to $46,652pa (2024 rate) paid fortnightly.
No application for the Award is required as eligible students will be automatically considered.
