About this scholarship

 

The School of Medicine and Psychology within the College of Science and Medicine may offer an award known as the Peter Sharp Scholarship.

The objective of the Award is to assist an Indigenous student to undertake the Doctor of Medicine and Surgery program (8950XMCHD) at the Australian National University.

Funding for this Award has been provided by the ACT Government and the ANU School of Medicine and Psychology.

Eligibility

 

The Award is available to a commencing ANU student who:

  • is a domestic student; and
  • is of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent;
  • identifies as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person;
  • is accepted as such by the community in which they live, or formally lived; and
  • is a medical student enrolled in the Doctor of Medicine and Surgery (8950XMCHD) at the ANU.

Additional information

 

The scholarship value is $33,000 per annum. The duration of the Award is for up to four years. The Award is paid in equal instalments after census date each semester unless otherwise stated in the letter of offer.

There is no application as students are automatically considered based on them meeting the eligibility criteria or conditions prescribed under the Eligibility section.
