About this scholarship
The Ramsay Postgraduate Scholarships were established through the generosity of the founder of the Ramsay Centre, Mr Paul Ramsay.
Scholarships are open annually to Australian citizens to pursue postgraduate study abroad. The aim of the scholarships is to enable coursework and/or research to be undertaken at the world's best universities and colleges for up to two years (and in select cases up to three years). Levels of support for tuition and living costs are fully competitive with such prestigious awards as the General Sir John Monash, Commonwealth, Rhodes and Fulbright Scholarships.
Selection Criteria
- Strength of character, leadership qualities, and commitment to serve others as demonstrated by their contribution to the community, public debate or professional involvement.
- Outstanding academic achievement, and breadth and depth of intellectual vision.
- Commitment to advancing a richer and deeper understanding of our civilisation through studies related to its history, philosophy, legal and political systems, religious beliefs and practices, literature and languages, science and social sciences, music, art and architecture.

- Up to AUD $100,000 p.a. towards tuition, living and travel expenses.
- One to three years of graduate coursework or research.
- Scholarships awarded for diverse disciplines at leading global institutions.
- Open to students accepted into full-time, in-person postgraduate programs overseas.
Applicants must have secured a place in a graduate program. The Scholarship is not available for undergraduate, executive education, part-time study or online programs and cannot be held alongside other major scholarships. The Scholarship is a contribution to costs associated with your studies and may not cover all expenses.

- Provide evidence of Australian citizenship (or permanent residency)
- Provide evidence that you have been accepted into one or more of the graduate programs for which you have applied. You may list up to three. If you are enrolling in a research program, you will also need to include your research proposal.
- Provide an academic summary of your career to date (institutions and degrees obtained), including certified transcripts and awards
- Provide a 2-page CV (including work experience, community service and leadership, and other noteworthy non-academic activities)
- Address the selection criteria and future goals
- Provide contact details of three referees. Your referees will only be contacted in the event you are shortlisted for interview. At least one of the referees must be able to speak about your academic ability.
Applicants with letters of offer from any overseas university in any discipline can apply for a World Universities Ramsay Postgraduate Scholarship. Applicants for the Ramsay St John's College, Annapolis, Scholarship must have received a letter of offer for the Master of Arts in Liberal Arts course
