About this scholarship

 

To mark Westpac’s 200th anniversary. The bank gave a gift to the Nation. A $100 million fund to fund 100 scholarships a year, forever, which became the Westpac Scholars Trust. And it’s through Westpac Scholars Trust that they invest in the next generation of leaders who will shape the future of Australia, which was officially commemorated in 2017.

The scholarship is awarded to postgraduate students who are undertaking a Master by coursework or research or a PhD at one of nine participating world-class universities, which include ANU. In addition to demonstrating academic excellence in their own field of study, Westpac Future Leader Scholars will have the desire and potential to become leaders, inspire others and build collaborative networks across disciplines, and have a vision to contribute to the growth and prosperity of Australia.

The award is available to a commencing or continuing ANU student who meets the eligibility requirements set out by the Westpac Scholars Trust, as published on the Westpac Scholars Trust website and in the associated Funding Guidelines.

The Westpac Future Leaders Scholarship provides the following benefits:

  • Up to $120,000 over 2–3 years for fees, living, learning experiences & travel.
  • Leadership Development Program with two residentials.
  • Global experience opportunities (up to six months).
  • Lifetime membership in the W100 Scholars Network + networking & development.
  • Attendance at the Westpac Scholars Summit in Sydney.
