About this scholarship
Each year, the ANU College of Law, Governance and Policy may offer an award known as the Yuill Travel Grant to Support the International Court of Justice (ICJ) Fellowship Programme.
The objective of the Award is to support the recipient to undertake a ten-month Fellowship programme with the ICJ in The Hague, Netherlands.
Funding for this Award has been provided by the Yuill Endowment established in memory of the late Justice Gordon Yuill of the Family Court of Australia.

Eligibility
The Award is available each year to a continuing ANU student or an ANU Alum who is (at the time of application):
- a domestic or international student;
- enrolled in one of the following programs at the ANU College of Law, Governance and Policy:
- Bachelor of Laws (Honours) as a single degree and has completed at least 138 units; or
- Bachelor of Laws (Honours) as part of a Flexible Double Degree (FDD Law) and has completed at least 186 units; or
- Juris Doctor (JD) and has completed at least 90 units; or
- Master of International Law and Diplomacy (MILD) and has completed 42 units; or
- Master of Laws; and
- a recent graduate of the LLB(Hons), JD, LLM or MILD from the ANU College of Law, Governance and Policy.
Additional information
The value of the Award is a one-off $40,000 payment, paid in a one-off instalment upon accepting the Award unless otherwise stated in the letter of offer.
The recipient is responsible for organising their passport, visa and insurance, and other costs involved in travel.

A ‘recent’ graduate is defined as one graduating within five years of the date of application for the Award.
The 2026-2027 ICJ Judicial Fellowship Programme will run from September 2026 to June 2027.
If a Fellowship is not awarded by the ICJ to the candidate/s nominated by the ANU Law School, the travel grant will not be awarded.
