This workshop offers a behind-the-scenes look at how a large-format recording studio functions. Participants will discover the fundamentals of studio equipment, learn how sound is captured, and understand the various roles involved in the music recording process.
This workshop offers an introductory overview of film and game composition, covering digital audio workstations (DAWs), MIDI orchestration, sample libraries, and sound design. Participants will explore how music enhances storytelling across both linear and interactive media. This session is open to anyone interested in the creative and technical aspects of music production, film scoring, and game audio.
Please Note: All attendees must wear close-toed shoes on the day.
Join us at the ANU Bone Lab for a classic murder mystery, except this time, you are looking for clues and finding the Bone Breaker through bones!
In Part 1 of this workshop, you will briefly learn the basics of human skeletal analysis, including excavation, bone identification, and skeletal inventory, age-at-death and sex estimation, how to estimate someone’s height from their bones, and how to identify bone diseases and skeletal trauma.
This hands-on, participatory workshop will be held in the ANU Classics Museum's brand-new Object-Based Learning Room (adjacent to the museum), housing their hands-on teaching collection. The hands-on collection stems from archaeological excavations undertaken at the Hellenistic site of Jebel Khalid in Syria. This 30-minute workshop will provide visitors with the opportunity to handle ancient objects including ceramics, glass, metals and sculptural fragments representing the everyday domestic and cultural life of the residents of an ancient town on the banks of the Euphrates.
This session will provide prospective students the opportunity to meet some of our program convenors and top academics, to discuss in depth their questions regarding programs, study options and graduate outcomes. Whether you’re an ambitious high school student, recent graduate wanting to dig deeper or an experienced professional looking to advance your career, this is an invaluable opportunity to ask your questions and gain crucial insights and answers. Come talk to us on level 1 in the CAP space!
