One application covers your admission, scholarship and accommodation. Applications open from March to May every year. Please have a look at Timeline for the Early Offer Applications.
*If you missed the Early Offer application deadline, please apply through UAC.
You are eligible if:
Please check out our Application walkthrough page. It will guide you through the application process.
Early offers are released in August/September each year. In this offer round, we use your Year 11 results, along with adjustment factors, to calculate your Year 11 selection rank that we will use to assess our application.
Once you receive your early offer, all you need to do is successfully complete your Year 12 studies and receive an ATAR, regardless of the ATAR value. This early offer cannot be deferred, so please accept the offer to secure your place at ANU.
After the early offer round, the application portal will reopen for a month, allowing applicants to change their preferences and provide supporting documents for the final offer round.
Final offers will be released in December/January. If you have already received an early offer and kept that program as your highest preference, you will receive your final offer if you have successfully completed your Year 12 studies and received an ATAR.
If you changed your preference while the application portal was open or you haven’t received an early offer to your highest preference, we will use your ATAR/IB result along with adjustment factors to generate your Year 12 selection rank. We will reassess your application using the better selection rank from either Year 11 or Year 12 to assess your application against your new highest preference(s).
All applicants must meet program-specific academic/non-academic requirements. Admission to some ANU programs is on a competitive basis. Therefore, meeting all admission requirements does not guarantee entry into the program. You can click here for more information on how we assess your Early Offer application.
If you successfully receive a final offer, you can choose to accept, decline, or defer the offer.
Below is some information that you will also need to know:
Worried about a place to live when you begin your studies at ANU? We can take care of that. Students who apply through ANU are guaranteed a spot in one of our on-campus accommodation buildings. Calculate and compare prices to find an accommodation option that suits you.
Not planning on living on campus? No worries, we offer students living off campus the opportunity to engage in a dynamic and connected university experience by joining one of our non-residential halls.
We also know that sometimes life pans out a bit differently for some students. ANU grants adjustment factors in recognition of the difficult circumstances that you may have faced in your studies. During your direct application you will be able to apply for the following entry schemes that can increase your entry rank.
In most cases, Early Offer applicants are eligible to change their preferences prior to receiving a final offer of admission. Please view the key dates on the Timeline for Early Offer applications page.
The order of your preferences in your application is important. Preferences are assessed from first preference (the program you want to study the most) to fifth preference (the program you want to study the least).
Please note: Co-Curricular and Service requirement is currently under review, further information will be provided shortly.
If your application is successful, you will receive an early offer. To receive your final offer, simply accept the early offer, successfully complete your Year 12 studies, and achieve an ATAR.
At ANU we recognise that talented students come from all backgrounds. Applications to ANU are open to all students, and we will prioritise offers of admission to the following applicants:
Scholarships help relieve the financial costs of going to university. This could include university fees, rent, living costs and more.
