Are you planning to stay in Canberra for the summer holidays? ANU offers short-term accommodation from 12 December 2025 to 11 February 2026 at Burton and Garran Hall.
Who can stay?
Summer accommodation is open to:
- Current residents
- Future residents
- Existing ANU students living off-campus
- ANU staff
- Visiting fellows
- Visiting scholars
- Alumni
How to book
To reserve your summer accommodation, make a booking through the ANU accommodation portal from Monday 7 October 2025.
Payment can be made at the reception of Burton and Garran Hall upon arrival. If you are not a current or prospective resident, a refundable $500 bond is required.
Room types and rates
- Standard room: $310 per week
- Standard lightwell room: $308 per week
The minimum stay is 3 nights.
Current residents: Fenner Hall, Wright Hall, Wamburun Hall and Yukeembruk, Bruce Hall
These residences will be closed over the summer period. Current residents will need to move to the designated summer residence by 14 December 2025 at the latest.
Current residents: Burton and Garran Hall
Current residents may stay at Burton and Garran over summer. Please note that your same room cannot be guaranteed. Applications open on the portal from 7 October 2025.
Current residents: Toad Hall, Packard Wing, Laurus Wing
These residences will remain open for the summer period for current residents only. When applications open on 7 October 2025, you’ll be able to select either your current residence or the designated summer residence via the portal.
Current residents: Kinloch Lodge, Lena Karmel Lodge, Warrumbul Lodge
These Lodges will remain open for the summer period for current residents only. A separate internal application process will apply, and details will be shared directly with residents. You may choose to remain at your Lodge or apply to move to Burton and Garran Hall through the accommodation portal.
Current residents: Davey Lodge
Davey Lodge will close over the summer period. Current residents may either remain at another Lodge or apply to move to Burton and Garran Hall via the accommodation portal.
