One application covers your admission, scholarship and accommodation (ASA). Applications open from March to May every year. Please have a look at Timeline for the ASA Early Entry Applications.

Check your eligibility to submit an ASA Early Entry application
You are eligible if:
- You are an Australian citizen, a New Zealand citizen or a permanent resident of Australia (including a holder of an Australian permanent resident humanitarian visa).
- You have completed Australian Year 11 studies or the IB program for Year 11
- You will complete Australian Year 12 studies with an ATAR or an IB Diploma in November 2026

How ASA Early Entry works
1. We assess your application using your Year 11 results
For the early offer round, we use your Year 11 results and any applicable adjustment factors to calculate your ASA Year 11 Rank.
We’ll use this rank to assess your eligibility for an early offer to your preferred ANU programs.
2. You receive your early offer
Early offers are released before your final Year 12 results are available. Check the ASA Early Entry key dates for current offer dates and deadlines.
If you receive an early offer, make sure you accept it by the deadline to secure your place at ANU.
Your early offer is conditional on successfully completing either:
- an Australian Senior Secondary Certificate of Education with an ATAR; or
- the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma.
3. You can review your preferences
After the early offer round, you’ll have another opportunity to review and change your program preferences and provide eligible supporting documentation before the final offer round.
Check the ASA Early Entry key dates to find out when you can make changes to your application.
4. We reassess your application using your final results
Once your final Year 12 results are available, we’ll automatically reassess your application.
We’ll calculate your ASA Selection Rank using the higher of your:
- ASA Year 11 Rank; or
- final ATAR or equivalent IB score,
including any applicable adjustment factors.
We’ll then consider your programs in preference order and assess you for your highest eligible preference.
If you received an early offer and keep that program as your highest eligible preference, your offer will be honoured provided you successfully complete your Year 12 qualification and meet all applicable program requirements.
Remember
You must meet the admission requirements for your chosen program, including any applicable academic requirements, English language requirements, subject prerequisites and additional selection criteria.
Some programs, such as the Bachelor of Health Science, have a competitive selection process and additional requirements.

If you receive a final offer, you can choose to accept, decline or defer your offer.
Accommodation guaranteed
Worried about a place to live when you begin your studies at ANU? We can take care of that. Students who apply through ANU are guaranteed a spot in one of our on-campus accommodation buildings. Calculate and compare prices to find an accommodation option that suits you.
Not planning on living on campus? No worries, we offer students living off campus the opportunity to engage in a dynamic and connected university experience by joining one of our non-residential halls.
Adjustment factors
We also know that sometimes life pans out a bit differently for some students. ANU grants adjustment factors in recognition of the difficult circumstances that you may have faced in your studies. During your direct application you will be able to apply for the following entry schemes that can increase your entry rank.
- Education Access Scheme (EAS)
- Diversity Scheme
- Elite Athlete Friendly University (EAFU) Entry Scheme
- Subject Adjustment Scheme
Change of preference
In most cases, ASA Early Entry applicants are eligible to change their preferences prior to receiving a final offer of admission. Please view the key dates on the timeline for ASA Early Entry applications page.
The order of your preferences in your application is important. Preferences are assessed from first preference (the program you want to study the most) to fifth preference (the program you want to study the least).
Receiving an early offer
If your application is successful, you’ll receive an ASA Early Entry offer based on your Year 11 results and any applicable adjustment factors.
To secure your place at ANU, make sure you accept your early offer by the deadline.
Your early offer is conditional on successfully completing either:
- an Australian Senior Secondary Certificate of Education with an ATAR; or
- the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma.
You must also meet any applicable program-specific requirements, such as subject prerequisites or additional selection criteria.

Scholarships
Scholarships help relieve the financial costs of going to university. This could include university fees, rent, living costs and more.
If you are an elite athlete, have high academic achievements or wish to specialize in a particular field then you might be able to benefit.
ANU has over 200 scholarships on offer. When you apply through ANU, we will match you up against each one to see if you are eligible – no need to complete applications over and over again!
Supporting documentation
As part of your ASA Early Entry application, you’ll need to provide documents so we can assess your application.
Depending on your circumstances, you may need to provide:
- your Year 11 results and Year 12 subject enrolment information;
- supporting documents for any ANU adjustment factors you’re applying for;
- documents required for programs with additional selection criteria; and
- any other documents requested as part of your application.
Make sure your documents are complete and uploaded by the relevant deadline. Check the ASA Early Entry key dates for current document submission deadlines.

Supporting your transition to ANU
To help make your transition to ANU as smooth as possible, we offer all new students an orientation program which includes:
- pre-arrival online information sessions
- a meet and greet service at the airport
- a mentoring program
- on-campus Orientation Week
Once you arrive, you'll have access to a range of support services to help you reach your full potential, including pastoral care and mental health services, academic assistance and student advocacy through student associations.
